What the guides are
Home Upkeep Calendar Desk publishes general, source-backed maintenance calendars and planning guidance for homeowners — seasonal task timing, service intervals, weather preparation, component-life ranges, and replacement budgeting. Intervals and lifespans are shown as planning ranges. A model manual, local climate, local code, installation quality, usage, prior damage, or a qualified professional’s finding can change the right date for a particular house, and costs vary by region and year.
Not inspection, trade service, or code advice
- Nothing here is a home inspection, an engineering or trade-professional opinion, or advice about your local building code. Reading a guide creates no professional relationship.
- Hazardous work — gas, line-voltage electrical, roof access, structural or chimney repair, garage-door springs and cables, high-tree work, and similar tasks — is not turned into step-by-step instructions here.
- When a calendar check uncovers a real fault or a safety concern, the appropriate next step may be a licensed or otherwise qualified professional. Confirm any interval, code requirement, or repair decision with the manufacturer, a qualified pro, or your local authority before acting.
